KLog has seen a strong and resilient performance in the last 2 years, which witnessed a financial crisis due to fall of financial institutions in the West. In the financial year 2008-2009, our business volume dropped in the wake of the financial crisis. However, it bounced back in the financial year 2009-2010 by 20%, both in terms of container volume and tonnage, which is double the overall increase in business volume of the industry as a whole in the same period, which grew by 10% in terms of container volume and tonnage.
In the financial year 2009-2010, our container volume grew from 37,826 teus to 45,506 teus and our tonnage grew from 756,520 tonnes to 910,120 tonnes. We achieved this outstanding growth in business volume by reducing our rates substantially for the benefit of our customers, which caused our turnover to drop by 35% from US$ 16,936,210 in 2008-2009 to US$ 11,080,350 in 2009-2010. However, we have earned the invaluable goodwill of our existing and new customers, which would improve our turnover in the coming years.
